Megan Forehand Photography

It all started six years ago when my photo-loving dad gave me one of his old cameras to use for a photography course in college. It wasn't long before I fell in love with the process and knew that this was what I wanted to do. A year after getting my first camera, I started Megan Forehand Photography. Five years later, I'm still doing what I love, taking my camera everywhere and capturing moments along the way.

I love seeing the twinkle in a groom's eye when he sees his bride for the first time and the happiness of a child, being part of the most special moments in someone's life, and creating memories that my clients can look back on for years to come. My goal is to tell your story through my lens.

Whitney & Josh | Engagement Session

I’m just crazy about this gorgeous engagement session! Josh and Whitney got up early to try to beat the Alabama heat, but what do ya know… It was still hot! These two were troopers though because these images turned out beautifully. Josh’s daughter, Kaylee, joined us for a few pictures, and she is so spunky. It is so special to see the bond she has with her dad and now with Whitney. These three really love each other! Of course, Kaylee celebrated at the end of the session, and I caught it on camera.

I am so looking forward to Whitney and Josh’s October nuptials!

Logan | Maternity

I am absolutely in love with this session, and I’m starting this blog post with my favorite image even though it’s not necessarily in the right order. Logan is stunning but motherhood has her glowing. She will be a fantastic mommy. She and her honey, Brad, are anxiously anticipating the arrival of their little girl, Everly James (what a cute name, right?!) and I am pretty excited about her arrival myself!

When we began to plan this session, Logan wanted to do it in or around water, so we decided on a lake session in the Tuscaloosa/Birmingham area. I had planned on a family trip to Panama City Beach, and, on a whim, I texted Logan to see if she might want to do the session at the beach while I was down there. She said YES! I was pumped because I knew it would be beautiful… and it was.

Julie & Andrew | Birmingham, Alabama Wedding

Gosh. I really don’t even know where to begin with this beautiful wedding. This was the first time that I have ever shot a Jewish wedding, and I had an absolute blast seeing and capturing these customs and traditions first hand. I really hope this is the first of many more to come.

Julie and Andrew are two of the most genuine people that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Every couple is different, and I would categorize these two as a “best friends” kind of couple. I love their love! They have fun together, and they laugh a lot and understand each other. That’s so easy to see if you’ve ever spent any time at all with these two. Not to mention, they sure do know how to throw a party! Their reception photos are some of my most favorite… probably ever! Everyone there was having an awesome time celebrating these two!

I really wish we could just go back in time and do this whole day over again! It was beautiful! Big thanks to Mary Catherine Fehr Photography for second shooting.

Shelby & Parker | Engagement Session

These high school sweethearts made my job so easy even though it was a scorcher here in Alabama on the day of our session! We walked all over the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and I got to photograph these two and their love. My job is the best! Shelby and Parker are getting married next January, and I know it will be a beautiful day!

Callen & Garrett | Tuscaloosa, Alabama

I loved every little bit of Callen and Garrett’s beautiful wedding at the always gorgeous Southern House and Garden! These two were absolutely made for one another. I even teared up at their first look (along with Garrett, it was the sweetest)! Garrett’s daughter loves Callen, and one of my favorite moments of the day happened during their father/daughter dance at the reception. There was a lot of tears falling in the room. It was so sweet! I’m going to let the photos do the talking for this one!!
